Following last year’s major challenge, Red Bull once again called on us to put together the team of Paddock and Grid Girls for the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix and to design their uniforms.
This year we’re continuing with the idea of a distinctly Andalusian dress code inspired by flamenco art. Our aim was to incorporate the brand into this style of clothing whilst retaining its essence. We presented Red Bull with several proposals and they finally opted for the design we’re showing you here.
We designed a two-piece ensemble: a blue silk crepe shawl, tied at the waist, featuring elegant white polka dots and silk fringing joined by a very carefully chosen interlining, and a bodysuit, also in blue, made from stretch twill, with an asymmetrical one-shoulder cut and double ruffle, where we incorporated the brand’s identity through embroidery.
To complete the look, a pair of red flamenco dancing shoes and, in her hair, a double red carnation with a white comb. We also had the idea of making some yellow earrings reminiscent of the sun in the bull’s logo. And, of course, the fan was a must.
We take care of the initial concept, the design and the selection of all the fabrics, the trimmings and the materials used in their production, delegating this final stage to Davinia García’s sewing workshop in Benalup-Casas Viejas, which, under our supervision, did an excellent job, adhering at all times to the garment manufacturing guidelines we set out and faithfully reflecting our vision.
We’ve managed to create a wardrobe concept that’s elegant, attractive, comfortable and daring in its originality. Just take a look at the photos below!
