The Casas Viejas Events of 1933

In 2014, the Cádiz Provincial Council launched a call for tenders for a project to document and showcase the Memorial Site in honour of the Victims of the 1933 Casas Viejas Events. At that time, we were contacted by Expociencia SL, a leading company in museum and exhibition projects at a national level (the Jurassic Museum of Asturias, the ‘Gallaecia Petrea’ exhibition in Santiago de Compostela, etc.) with a presence in Latin America and specialising further in audiovisual and multimedia projects, communication, architecture, computer graphics and 3D.
They proposed that we join their multidisciplinary team to draw up the proposal to be submitted for the tender and, naturally, we accepted this wonderful commission. Following several meetings and site visits to the location where the work would take place, we set to work alongside the historians and architects.
We developed a comprehensive graphic proposal: visual identity, panel design, 3D recreations of the works to be carried out, as well as layout and design work in line with the narrative described to us by the documentary filmmakers. The result? The best possible: we were awarded the project and, following a few changes to the initial proposal, we developed all the final graphic content for the space.
The centre, situated on Calle Nueva in Benalup-Casas Viejas, was inaugurated at the start of 2015 and has been very well received. Here is a glimpse of the work we carried out, and we invite you, if you have the chance, to visit this historic site, which forms part of the “Cádiz, origin of cultures” project.
