Spain Sail Grand Prix 2022 | Andalusia – Cádiz

Following the success of 2021, SAIL GP returned to Cádiz in 2022 with every intention of staying. It was a spectacular event in which our city once again welcomed the world’s finest athletes, and in which we far exceeded the expectations set during the first year the event was held in Spain. More than 1,200 boats watched the spectacular competition from the waters of Cádiz Bay, whilst 35,000 people a day packed the Paseo de Santa Bárbara.

New Zealand, Denmark, Canada, Great Britain, France, Spain, Australia, the United States and Switzerland made up the line-up for Season 3 of this sensational event, which we enjoyed in Cádiz over the weekend of 24 and 25 September 2022.

For the second year running, we were responsible for the overall local production, from obtaining permits to setting up all the venues required for the SAILGP event. Working alongside the SAILGP Global team, we developed the venues and equipped them with everything needed to run the event.

We are proud to have organised this event, which featured a display by the F50s (flying catamarans), who once again left the entire population of Cádiz, as well as fans and tourists visiting the city this weekend, utterly amazed.

Once again, Cádiz has established itself as a leading centre in the world of water sports, thereby helping to make water sports even more popular amongst the people of Cádiz and aligning with Sail GP’s commitment to the environment, offering the opportunity to move towards a sustainable model based on caring for the planet and working with the environmental resources at our disposal.
