The research vessel *Oceanograf* from the University of Gdańsk visited the waters off Cádiz for the first time last May to publicise the ocean research campaign being carried out by various European universities, including the University of Cádiz, through the SEA EU Alliance (European Universities of the Seas).
To mark the arrival of the Oceanograf, the University of Cádiz (UCA) organised an exhibition at the Passenger Terminal on Muelle Ciudad, where they displayed and explained to anyone interested the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans, as well as the extensive research work being carried out by the Oceanograf across the world’s oceans.

What did we do?
Given our extensive experience of working at Muelle Ciudad, and in collaboration with the SEA EU organisation, we were able to adapt the space to the exhibition’s requirements, giving the terminal a completely different feel whilst respecting the space itself.
One of the most important aspects of managing a project of this nature was sustainability. We fabricated and assembled an ad hoc wooden structure of walkways, which could be reused in other projects, to clearly guide visitors along the route to the ship whilst allowing them to view the various exhibition displays. We supported the event with a team of hostesses and hosts with a good command of English, to assist international visitors where necessary, as well as with staff who shared an interest in the exhibition, to ensure a personal commitment to the work and provide high-quality support.
