2017 Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos National Final
In 2017, the National Final of the Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos took place at one of Europe’s most iconic concert venues: the WiZink Centre, right in the heart of Madrid. With an audience of over 15,000 people, this event once again established itself as the world’s most important Spanish-speaking freestyle event. The event took place on 23 September, and with a production on a scale never before seen at the Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos, the National Final lived up to all expectations.
Two intense days of set-up were required to create a 360° layout, featuring L’Acoustic K1 and K2 sound systems, over 300m² of LED screens and more than 150 moving lights distributed throughout the venue. A striking circular stage in the centre of the arena, topped by a cube of LED screens and connected by a walkway nearly 30 metres long, saw the 16 aspiring ‘Gallos’ compete for the title of Spanish Champion and the privilege of representing Spain at the International event. Chuty was the winner of this year’s competition. The event was streamed live worldwide, breaking all records for concurrent viewers and topping global trending lists for several hours.
Babblá was responsible for producing the entire event, as well as designing all the apps and meeting the event’s technical requirements. For yet another year – and since 2014 – this has become one of the company’s main events of the season.
Here are some images of the planned set-up, as well as of the event itself.
