2015 Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos National Final
Once again, Red Bull Spain set us the challenge of organising one of its most high-profile events of the year: the National Final of the Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos.
The city of Alicante was the chosen venue, with the Port of Alicante providing the space. It took six days to set up for an event that lasted ten hours, and we dismantled everything in a single day.
We’re no longer just talking about a hip-hop music event. This year, as a new feature, urban art (graffiti) was combined with sport (skateboarding and BMX) and dance (breakdancing).
We designed a unique space, right in the middle of the Muelle de Levante (the former Volvo Zone), with a capacity of up to 10,150 people. An ‘orbit’-style stage with a 15-metre frontage, over 75 m² of high-resolution LED screens and more than 300 m² of printed canvas spread across the 6,500 square metres available for the event. A two-level VIP area, a skate mini-ramp, a 40 m² breakdancing area… in short, a fully-fledged, multidisciplinary festival, but always centred on Spanish-speaking hip-hop.
And what happened? Well, we were absolutely packed. Queues from 7 am for an event where we were due to open the doors at 4 pm. We were at full capacity just four hours after opening the doors, and if we’d had space for 15,000, there’d have been more than enough room. Local star “Arkano”, clinching his second National Final on home turf. Lots of partying, lots of music, and we were absolutely delighted. Here are some videos of the set-up, time-lapse footage, shots, a few photos and a bit more… Enjoy!
